It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We finally got our first big snow fall last night!  What a better time to show some winter decorations!

This was a very easy centerpiece to put together, I used things I already had.  The runner is from our wedding this summer, the wreath was one that I put on our front door last year (I'm looking for a new one for the front door now), the bowl was a resale shop find (one of my favorites)  The base was gold, so I just spray painted it espresso, did I mention I spray paint everything!!

Here I just switched out the dried flowers and added a winter touch.

Again, I used a runner from our wedding.  I love them too much to let them sit in our "wedding" closet, and they do work well with winter.  Then I took things I already had out and added some winter holly to it.

Just a few holiday touches.

Here I added a ribbon bow and just some garland I bought at Micheal's.  Really easy and festive.

Welcome Winter

I really try not to buy any new decorations until we unpack everything from the years prior.  This year it was really hard, I think maybe because I am feeling the Christmas Spirit earlier then usual.  This will be our 3rd Christmas in our home, but our first as a married couple.  We have accumulated some decorations in the 3 years, I really try to stick with snowmen and the winter theme instead of Santas, reindeer, and Christmas trees.  I feel that this makes the decorations last longer as in I don't get tired of them as fast and they can stay up until the snow is leaving.

Here is a close up of our tree, I added ice cover sticks to give the tree more character.
I just used a 50% off at Michael's and bought a small bunch of the sticks and then broke them up and placed them in the tree randomly.

The star was a Good Will find, it was gold, we just spray painted it to match our home better.
The tree skirt is just burlap, it's about a 7ft by 3ft and I just wrapped it around the stand.  Easy and very inexpensive!!

The snowmen on the shelf are a Good Will find that I just cleaned up and add some fabric for their scarves.
Adding a little greenery around a candle gives the winter look without adding too much to the foyer table, same with in the floor vase, I just added some holiday berries.
