and she was fine......

That's the comment I got from the doctor today when I voiced my concern that I am almost 39 weeks and my mom had 10 pound babies. She just smiled and said "and she was fine, and you will be too!" I smiled as my stomach sank. I like our doctor and I don't think she was trying to be mean at all, it just wasn't really what I wanted to hear. When we got in the car Ryan asked me if I was ok, and I was ok. I am totally fine, I feel good, I can't complain. So I thought for a second and then I came to the conclusion that no matter how big our little man is going to be I will get through it. I won't even know how big he is until after he's out and about anyway, so I really won't know the difference if he is 6 lbs or 10lbs. I ran my new insight past Ryan and he totally agreed and smiled at me. Yep, I'm going to be fine!

The Final Countdown

Yesterday was Valentine's day, and I had just a small thought that maybe we would have ourselves a heartday baby, but no such luck. He is still cooking, which is fine. I want him to come out when he is ready. Although I am so ready physically, my mind still needs some time to wrap around the idea that I am going to be a mom in a matter of days. Yesterday was our last Valentine's day with it just being "us". It was such a wonderful day, we took the day off for a doctor's appointment, we went to breakfast at my favorite little cafe for the best biscuits and gravy and then set out for some baby boy shopping. After, we got a few of our finishing touches for the little man, we went and saw the VOW which I cried through:)  was one of the best love stories I have ever seen;) I am very emotional these days. After that, we went and got dinner "to go" from our favorite restaurant and set out for home. It was the perfect day, and made me just cherish my husband even more.

Any day now little man, your daddy and I are waiting...

Kids Say the Cutest Things....

I figured I should write down some of the things my students have said though out my pregnancy. I know I will forget otherwise.....

From the mouth of a kindergartner ...as he touches my belly "Is there something in there?"

From my third graders....
"Mrs. S what did the baby have for lunch today?"

Me:"Class I have a surprise for you."
One of my students: "Your going to have your baby right now?!?"

"Mrs. S you better have two cookies, the baby wants one"

"You should name him library, because you like books"

and one of my favorites....
"You can still work when you are growing a baby?"

ahhh, gotta love them!!!

Maternaty Photos......Check!

Honestly I wasn't going to do them, I was thinking how possibly could I take photos right now and feel good about them. But Ellie from Vitella Photography, who did our engagement and wedding photos talked me into it. I am so glad we decided to do them. I feel like it is a time that is easy to forget once the little man is here, and she captured our excitement perfect. Here are a few of my favorites....

36 Down 4 (HOPEFULLY) To Go!

Really four whole weeks? I just know I am going to be late too. It is kind of bitter sweet, I know that he will come when he is ready. Enough people have said that to me by now, but this whole can't tie my shoes or shave my legs thing is getting a little old. Being pregnant is a beautiful thing, yes but 10 months (because it really is 10) is just too long! My good friend had her baby on Saturday, she was about three weeks early. Everything is great and her baby boy is beautiful. Now she is at home loving him up, and I just can't wait to be there. My mom was late all three times, which gives me little to no hope that he will be here early. I was talking to my baby while driving to work today. Telling him, that I only want him to come out when he is ready, but if at anytime he feels ready he should come on out! Working is getting harder, I feel bad sitting more then my students are used to. I am usually on my feet all day and getting down to their level, it is just to hard right now. I know they all understand, and they are all so cute about the baby coming. Asking me questions, like "what did the baby have for lunch?" and "Mrs. Schrader, did you have your baby last night?" I am going to miss this class:) But the rate I am going I still have another month to enjoy them!
