A little classroom tour...
WELCOME to 3S

Here is where students complete their morning checklist. Lunch count, turn in homework, and turn in any notes they have for me. |
Lunch count |
Notes to me from parents, or anything that needs to go down to the office. This is helpful because I am not bombarded with notes when the kidos walk into the classroom. |
This is my Zoo Keeper station. I have two helpers a day and we call them Zoo Keepers. One is the line caboose the whole day and the other is the line leader. Their is a job checklist that the ZKs go though each day for morning, mid day and afternoon. This is so helpful because the kids take care of the whole thing. They check their name off at the end of the day and put a new kido's ZK card in the cheetah slot and let that child know they are ZK for the next day. |
This is our behavior chart, I added a positive care too. The purple card is when I see students being good leaders and making good choices. They love this and it makes for a great way to monitor behavior. |
Here is what it means when a child pulls a red card. All students start the day on green. If a child is not being a positive leader and making bad choices they will be asked to pull a yellow card first (they will lose 5 minutes of recess) if they continue to make poor choices they will then turn their card to red. |
This is the top of our writing center, there is a counter below with computers and space to write. Students use this space to help them get into the Writing Zone. |
Here is our 3rd grade word wall. When students look up a word they can added it to the word wall, this is also located by the Writing Zone. |
These are our reading pillows. Students can buy a pillow pass with their Schrader homework dollars or can pick out a pillow if they turn their card to purple. They love this! |
Here is a wonderful and easy way to display students work. I just laminated construction paper and then taped a plastic sleeve to each one, this makes it so you can slide student's work in and out easily. |
This is my good friend and 4th grade teaching partner. It was twin day....I know we're dorks. |
